Website Redesign
Overview
Discover McMaster is a website redesign project for McMaster University which I worked on at Elite Digital. "Discover McMaster" is one of the key websites that is used by future students, current students, and visitors helping them explore the campuses and get familiar with the university facilities such as restaurants, athletics and recreation, residences, dinings, faculties, and so on. "Discover McMaster" includes a refreshed-designed interactive map through which users are able to navigate all parts of the university and get the desired information about places and directions.
User Research
The first step for our research was to study the current website and learn about usability and current features. Therefore, I ran a VAS analysis and accessibility audit. I conducted interviews with McMaster University students to understand the pain-points and to define the problems. Based on the key findings and research on the potential users, I created two personas depicting the user’s behaviour, and pain-points.
After creating the personas and researching the user needs, we came up with new solutions including efficient features such as listing all the facilities with their details, directions, contacts, and accessibility.

Sketches
After I arrived at multiple potential solutions for each pain point, I drafted rough user interface sketches. I then did basic validation on low-fidelity UI sketches. Through getting feedback, I was able to refine my sketches and come to more precise solutions for the high-fidelity mockups.
Wireframes
Final Design
I designed hi-fi mockups of my proposed solutions in Sketch, then I went on to create an interactive prototype using Invision. I ran usertesting on several new individuals. Results from the validation test were proven necessary.Below are the Hi-Fi mockups of my final solutions.
Virtual Map
McMaster Vitual Map is an interactive 3D-rendered map with many useful features. The user is able to navigate through the map easily and to get as much information about each site as they wish. The map covers all campuses including a virtual tours, images, and videos.
